This
half day training program provides participants with a basic understanding
of the mechanics of back injuries along with practical approaches
that can be taken to reduce these types of injuries. Different types
of injury prevention programs will be discussed so that participants
understand that various options that are available to reduce back
related injuries. These programs include: physical demands analysis,
pre-work screening programs, employee training, stretching programs,
and ergonomic evaluations - what they are and when to use them.
Additional
program content includes: mechanisms of injury, mechanics of the
back, risk factors for back injuries, basic ergonomics principles,
and how to implement a back program. Specific work tasks will be
discussed with corrective recommendations, presented to reduce the
related risks.
This
program explains why a broad approach is necessary for the control
of lower back disability for anyone employed in heavy lifting environments.
