Objective:
The main objective of this course is, to assist OHS Professionals
in the manufacturing industry to better deal with a critical incident
in the workplace.
Upon
completion of the course, the student will have greater understanding
of critical incidents and the role of safety professionals and the
resources available for assistance after a critical incident.
Scenario:
The phone rings at the front desk, an emergency call from the shop
has been transferred to your desk. You have just been informed a
worker has been seriously injured while operating a forklift and
911 has been called! You are the company safety professional, you’re
worst fears have now been realized. A work place incident can happen
without warning, are you ready to deal with the aftermath of a serious
injury or fatality in the work place? Has your company made the
appropriate arrangements with a professional counseling service
to ensure the impact of a Critical Incident is minimized and dealt
with effectively?
